You can now recycle newspaper, magazines, shopping catalogs, office & school papers and mail using the green and yellow bin in the driveway of the Byzantine Catholic Seminary. Paper recycling saves landfill space and cleans the environment. Approximately 40% of landfill space is paper. Each year, people throw away enough office paper to build a 12-foot high wall from New York to California.
By recycling your paper, you can reduce the amount of trash you generate and help the Seminary earn money for its projects and programs.
The paper collected in the bin is collected and taken to a recycling processing center, sorted, de-inked and turned into newsprint. This program diverts waste paper, saving an estimated 8.5 million cubic yards of landfill space each year.
We accept NEWSPAPER, CATALOGS, MAGAZINES, JUNK MAIL, OFFICE PAPER, FAX PAPER, SCHOOL PAPERS, NOTEBOOKS, FOLDERS, ENVELOPES, SHOPPING BULLETINS, COLORED PAPER, GLOSSY PAPER. Please do not recycle cardboard, cereal boxes or phonebooks.
This is an easy way for you to recycle your paper and help us raise money for projects and repairs. Please remember to bring your paper and drop it in the green and yellow Abitibi Paper Retriever®, located just up the driveway at the Seminary. There is no financial commitment from you, just bring us your paper! For more information, log on to PaperRetriever.com. Help us support the responsible use of paper products by recycling, and make every page count!
